Electricity Only - Should I Switch?

Hi there, just looking for some advice as am getting very confused by the information available.

I have a one bedroom (tiny) flat which uses Economy 7. Got the latest bill in from Scottish Hydro Electric yesterday and although not as scary as I thought it was going to be they are putting payments up slightly (£9 a month) from the start of September. I'm going to be £54 a month then.

I realise I have probably missed the boat with capped tariffs but wasn't sure if it would be worth it for 'just' electricity but I'm guessing there are cheaper suppliers out there and I should be switching anyway? I've looked at energyhelpline but there are just so many details on there about the tariffs that it's confusing me somewhat.

That works out at £648 per annum, assuming that your monthly payments actually cover you usage, compared to the average total energy bill of around £1000, before the latest round of price increases. Just check that you are getting the best prices for your area and usage.
