Problems with goods when buying using a CC

I believe Credit Card companies are obliged by law to help purchasers if there are problems with, for example, defective goods.

Is this true and has anyone had any experience of this.?

    Yes. If goods fail to arrive, are damaged or otherwise not fit for the purpose for which they are intended then both the supplier and credit card company are liable. You can go to either.

    It only includes normal cards (not Amex) and a recent ruling means they do not have to cover you for goods bought or ordered from abroad, though some still will.

    Minimum amount by law is £100 but in practice most cards waive the minimum.
