Not enough for me, I had to give all but about 5 bottles away
Just remembered, that worked out at £1.29, so who's to say what's worth £17.95 or £1.29?
Gilly Goolden?

i got the same email and I've written back to say that I didn't know there was a fault with the website price (grin), I was looking for other wine suppliers (I use Laithwaites normally), thought it was a bin end clearance price and that if the item had scanned at that price on the High Street then the store would have to honour it. (think that is the case? Worth a shot though!)
I've said I'm unhappy with their email as they now have my contact details and credit card details on file and I feel they should honour the transaction.
If they come back and still say no, I'll ask for some kind of compensation (a bottle or two of something!), otherwise , I'll say I'll stick to Laithwaites!

Thought I would update you on my attempt to get Averys to honour my order (hey got to push it heh)
So this is my reply to my emailing them and saying that they accepted my offer so therefore entered into a contract .......(and so on)
"Thank you for your email and the point you raised, and again I am sorry if you feel we have let you down.
The confirmation email we sent just confirmed that we had received your order, but did so "subject to payment authorisation and stock allocation" . Unfortunately, the order was never able to be allocated stock as all of our available stock was already taken by others who had found the offer before you. Therefore your card was never charged and authorised and we never completed the contract.
Your personal details have been deleted from our system, so you can rest assured that they cannot be used.
Beacause we clearly got raided due to some opportunistic emails ( which a few people were kind enough to send to us afterwards) we do not have any of the stock left to send, even if I wanted to. We have literally sold out. It was a very expensive wine and there was never very much in the country.
I'm sorry to have to disappoint you but, I really don't have any of the wine left to sell.
Yours sincerely
Richard Davis
Mail Order Director "
Obviously I never said that I had tipped off half the country nor have I sent them and emails (whats all that about?)
Anyway, just checked their site again and surprise surprise they are still selling it. Soooo, just wondered if anyone is really savvy on Trading Standards as they are claiming they cant honour our orders as they have no stock but clearly as they are still offering it for sale they must have some...
Oh well, got a bee in my bonnet now

i've had that email now as well. I've written back and said I'm not happy that they say they don't have any stock, but it is still for sale. I've said i'm sure Trading Standards wouldn't be impressed - surely you can't keep advertising something, take cc details and then just say 'oh we don't have any left?'
