I have been at Uni for a year and passed the course.:j
But for that year RBS wouldn't let me have a Student account.,........ until today:D
£1250 Over draft and some other bits that I wasnt really that bothered about.
So what do I do with the money?
Save it, put it in an ISA or spend it, I have never had a huge OD like this before:T
Can I have some advice pls.:money:

So did you re-apply for it, or did they just offer it after a year?0

I asked the "student bank account advisor" to check to see if the bank would allow me to have the account, I bought in the relevant proof that I was on the course and her presto new student account for me.0

Excellent.
I applied to upgrade my RBS account to a student acc a few days ago, just wondering how long they take to decide.0 -
I applied for the RBS student account and was provisionaly approved online, got documents within 2 days. I have a mortgage with them but no current accounts though.Married 5th June 20101st Baby born 12th April 2011:j0

Save it until the 0% offer runs out. That way you'll be making profit out of nothing, you won't get yourself into debt and you won't be saying to yourself in 3 years time, "what did i spend that money on again?" and "I'll never get out of my overdraft!"

Fantastic

I have a current account with natwest (I believe they're linked with RBS?) and it was changed to a student account within a couple of days. I just applied online and asked them to change it and they did! No proof or anything!0 -

Just got a letter today approving my upgrade, but I need to go into my local branch when I start uni to apply for the overdraft. My local branch is in Glasgow and I'll be miles away when I start uni. :rotfl:0 -
You should be able to go into your local branch to the uni! When I was in Leicester I was allowed an overdraft there even though my branch was Northampton.Married 5th June 20101st Baby born 12th April 2011:j0
