Thinkin about goin back to uni...confused

Hi everyone, first post. I have recently been thinkin about returning to do a full time undergraduate degree as im sick of my current dead end job. Thankfully my husband is on a good salary and it wouldnt effect us too much. However I previously studied an undergraduate ba degree for two years until I left the course for a variety of family reasons which I wont bore you with.
I really just wanted to know how my previous study will have affect what financial support I will be able to receive. Having done a bit of research it looks like I probably wont be able to get a loan for the tuition fees, but would I still be entitled to the maintenance loan? Just to pay the fees really as theyre a lot more expensive than when I was at uni last time!
Thanks
Louise

I think they will lend a maximum of four years which means you should get loans for 2 years on your new course. I recently applied to go back after dropping out of my first year 4 years ago and I had to provide "compelling personal reasons" as to why I dropped out, but have been accepted.Married 5th June 20101st Baby born 12th April 2011:j0

I did three years of a modular degree and completely fluffed my third year. Had a baby the day before I started the course and another in my second year. By the time I got to my third year I was in meltdown! I had funding for the three years but left without handing in any of my final assignments or doing my dissertation. I then had a break of 6 years! Eventually went back and re-did my third year over two-years part-time. So I think I was funded for five years in all.. def' didn't pay my own tuition fees and def' had maintanance loans for each year. You're probably best asking student loans. I think it all depends upon your circumstances and why you didn't complete.0

Thanks for the replies chaps. Ill e mail my local authority and ask them. I paid my own fees for the two years but obviously got a student loan for both years so was really just wondering whether I could get another loan, coz the fees are £3,145 now as apposed to just over a grand when I first went.
Thanks

Worth double checking, but everyone I know who has been to uni before has been refused tuition fee loans. A friend completed his degree, but went back to study something completely different and was refused. My boyfriend was 29 when he went back to uni three years ago(just completed his degree) and had gone to uni when he was 18. He completed the first 2 years and then just never went back (mainly due to depression). He's also been completely refused any tuition fee loans. If they do lend it after you've studied before, it will probably depend on the LEA and how well you can put across your arguement! Definately worth trying though!0
