Hi All,
I hope someone can help...I am putting in a new kitchen at the mo and have gone for in-ceiling speakers. I wanted to put in a mini system in one of the kitchen units. Most of the time we will want to listen to the radio (Radio 5).
Will I be able to pick up DAB radio stations if the system is in a kitchen unit? If not, are there any other options available eg internet radio that won;'t be affected by the position of the system?
Thanks for your help.

We have a DAB radio at work that struggles to get reception (usually has 30-40% interference) and we're on the 2nd floor of a car dealership. Granted the building has a tin roof that may not help, but I would have hoped for better from DAB?:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. It probably depends on the radio.
We had an Alba one - which I eventually threw away because it only worked by the window.
Now I have Pure radios and have no problem anywhere in the house.
A lot of radios will allow you to plug in an external aerial - so you could always put the radio in a cupboard and feed an aerial out the back or something.0 -
Let me add to that ...
We have a "Pure Legato II" mini system. The aerial that comes with it is a wire affair and reception depends on how well you string it out.0 -
It depends exactly where you live as DAB signal strength varies considerably. An external aerial for less than £20 should get sorted if you are not in a black hole! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
