Quick Q about Netgear PC Card

Do you have to eject and then insert it again every time you want to connect to the internet? Thats what I have to do. When I double click on the icon to perhaps try and activate it, it tells me that its not connected

Will do. The slot had never been used before though, should be good as new. Im worrying that I will end up with damaged connectors if I have to keep doing this.

You definetly should not have to pull it out and put it back in again.

Still the same. im not sure if it is a problem with the laptop or the PC card. the laptop is almost 2 years old but that slot has never been used. I dont really want to return the PC card, as my faulty router had to be rturned and I had a helluva time trying to get the wwireless network up and running again...

If you leave the card in and restart the PC is it recognised?
or does it ask for anything and the card still wont work?

No it isnt recognised at all, it says it isnt inserted (but it is, it is the way I left it after logginh off of the internet last time....) So, to get it to work I have to eject and re-insert it
  • move it to a differnt slot and try again, failing that get it replaced.
