I've spent £15 on a shredder for a Christmas present, which I found on the Grabbit board.
And don't know how much it has cost yet, but bought a pear and scotch egg for lunch via the office errand boy. Oh, and 40p on peanuts. Spent £60.15 on my Tesco delivery - should have been £75 but had £10 off code from vouchers board and then £5 odd on bogofs etc.
Also.. cancelled my experian membership so will be £49.99 better off! Just gonna stick to statutory £2 reports from now on.Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
Nothing again. Feeling all virtuous and miserable simultaneously because everyone went to a pub lunch at work and (again) I declined and sat at my desk eating sandwiches.Pay off CC debt by Xmas 2017 #095 £0 of £11,416 :eek:0

I was going to ask how you're getting on...
You're probably missing nothing special, but saving a tenner at the same time. Youll get through it. It wont be long before you're joining them.

Well I've missed two pub lunches recently, so that's gotta be £15 I've saved now. It's kinda nice when I look at it like that.
And I've made £9.95 on ebay the other day and just listed a ton more things. Getting my internet at home back online tonight so there will be even more going on! Tentatively worked out I can owe under £8K if I work my socks off at this, by Christmas. And I've even inspired my mate to stop buying so much junk food at work and take her own junk food in from home cos it's cheaper. She's the one I'm looking at house sharing with. Her best mate is also broke having just bought a house too, so I can see the three of us now sitting in on a Friday doing our nails, watching DVDs borrowed off each other and eating pizza. Could be fun! We're all going to learn to cook though, so it could also be distastrous.
So, honestly, what's being debt free like? Any urge to go out and spend money at all? I think that's gonna be my problem when I get there, although you are saving for travelling so you have (very strong!) motivation.Pay off CC debt by Xmas 2017 #095 £0 of £11,416 :eek:0 -

I'm telling myself I'm not allowed out until the work's christmas dos (x2) this year. The first is December 2nd, so i have to wait until then!
AND that's assuming it's within my budget. Saving up viciously (good word) for those events so I can maybe go out drinking afterwards too.
Also supposed to be going out this Saturday but I'm going to decline that too. Hopefully that won't feel too bad as my bloke will make an effort to come round this weekend. If he doesn't turn up though I'll be gutted, and knowing work he may not turn up.Pay off CC debt by Xmas 2017 #095 £0 of £11,416 :eek:0 -

I dont feel any different at the moment. I definately dont want to go out and spend money, I didnt even treat myself to lunch (or go to the pub with my colleagues)...
In a way I still feel stressed and as though I am still in debt because I want to save X by X month for travelling, so I should ease up on myself a bit, as I dont want to stress myself out too much when I dont have to, but I cant help it :0)
Me and my housemates do that all the time, stay in & watch dvd's, tv & chat, do girlie things/eat together, so its nice, especially if you are all in the same boat and have a budget to stick to. More people are in debt than we think, they just dont own up to it.
