Car rental without a one way fee?

I need to pick up a hire car from Glasgow International Airport and return it to Glasgow Prestwick 2 days later, at the end of August.

I can find car deals (with air con) for about £50, which isn't too bad, but because of the different pick-up/drop-off points, i'm being charged an extra £35 or £40 on top of this!

Does anyone know of firms who don't add this huge extra fee for a 'one way' hire?

Flying out to Zurich Switzerland and returning from Paris I managed to get a one way deal with Hertz with no additional fee by booking early and getting lucky with someone else doing the reverse journey leaving a French registered car in Zurich for me to take back to Paris. The car was 2 grades higher than I asked for with no extra charge.
This was back in 1992.
