Digital switchover - Does this mean AM/FM radios obsolete too?

Hi All,

I don't know if this is the right place to post this? I am planning on buying my boyfriend the DeWalt Radio/Charger DC011 for his birthday - I am just wondering because it's not DAB digital will the radio element be useless when the swithover to Digital is made? Here in Cornwall that's less than 12 months away.

Your thoughts please Wise ones?

TV broadcast only, nothing to do with radio broadcasts. There will be no "digital switchover" for radio for the foreseeable future (and no real need for it either).

looking at the article below, there're talking about 2015-2020 for radio.

I suppose 10 years is a long time for a domestic radio.
