Okay - I switched my dual fuel from Scottish Power to npower in May after doing the price comparison (still waitng for the moneysupermarket £30 cashback but that's another story!)

I've tried to cap this morning - and checked moneysupermarket again - its saying e-on is best for me since I live in KA11 postcode area since I pay £40 monthly in direct debit. I'm a medium (towards low) consumer.

However

as) Can I change to eon after being with npower only 2 months?
b) Has Eon has stopped its fixed charge? The other threead is a little confusing!
c) I called npower this morning - 30minute waiting queue and the recorded message says that due to overwhelming deman they have stopped the fixed rate. Does anyon kow if this is just for new customers not existing?

I'm so confused!

Anyone got any suggestions?

You only really have to be with a supplier for 28 days, but thats more down to transfer speed than anything legal I believe, although I have seen people being with companies for as little as 14 days.

Im in similar situation and really dont know where to turn next. I have rung NP who say they have no capped tariffs for anyone but that as I am on Online 10 tariff I should wait and not change to Eon. The girl I spoke to said I was on very low rate already - Elec 12.5 for 1st 728 units then 10.06 for anything else and for Gas 5.6 for first 4572 k hrs and then 1.63. Moneysupermarket said to ring Eon as although they give cashback Eon's own tariff through them might be cheaper. I dont know what to do:confused::confused:

Have changed to Eon this morning, dont know if Ive done right but girl at Eon says it should be cheaper for me, cant understand this as prices are more expensive but guess I will have to wait and see. I have selected the price protection until Oct 2009 tariff.

I arranged it on the phone through Eon, to be honest I did know about the £30 cashback but Moneysupermarket explained that sometimes and figures can vary between the cashback tariff and the tariff if you phone up and as my brain is beginning to hurt I just thought I would go ahead and not bother with the cashback, so I cant really tell you if you have done the right thing. The girl said my first elec units will be 21.9 and thereafter 12.1 and gas the first 2680 units will be 5.3 and thereafter 3.3 if this helps. Is this cheaper or more expensive than what you will be paying? She also said it would be cheaper for us per month than with NP, but I cant quite get my head around this as their prices are less.
