Try the Epson Stylus Photo RX585, which is also a very useful photo printer.0

What else do you want it to do?
My Canon MP530 has a good quality dpi, can do CDs, has a scanner and fax too and cost me about £230.
Hope this humble sheep has helped with this info:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. I have a Canon Pixma (can't remember which model) which makes a very good job of printing CDs.There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

Not cheaper to use Lightscribe?0

I can recommend the Canon iP4300 if all you want is a printer (the iP4500 is a more recent model that might be easier to find); priced at about £60, it has a tray for CD printing and produces really good results - it also has the advantage of using separate ink tanks for each colour.

As Donnie says, lightscribe is an option. It requires a slightly more expensive DVD drive and DVD/CDs, but it uses a laser in the drive to essentially burn an image onto the front of the DVD, easily creating a label. However, most PCs don't come with lightscribe drives, and it would be easier in the short run to just stick with labels.0

May not be what you're looking for, however, I've had decent results with the PressIT. I also bought around 400 labels for 3 quid
Much cheaper and colourful and some of them look really good
Labelling is OK for CDs, but I've heard some horror stories about DVDs with self-adhesive labels.
Printing directly onto the face of a printable CD / DVD looks way better, too.0 -

Another vote for the RX585, I bought it a couple of months ago, the cd/dvd printing is excellent and so are the photos.0 -
I have canon ip5300 which is very quick and the cli-8 ink cartridges are easy to refill.0
