I note that A&L are offering a regular savings account which pays 10% with effect from 31 October 2005. To benefit from this offer, one has to open a new Premier current account with them. Unfortunately, this offer is not open to those of us who already have a Premier current Account. On suggesting to A&L today that I would close my Premier account and open a new one so as to benefit from this regular savers offer, I was advised that they will not allow this as I am not new to the Group. Rather unfair, don't you think?

I'm More than a little annoyed myself having just opened a A&L current account in the last couple of weeks. In fact I only received the cheque book and card in the last few days !!!I was planning on opening a savings account with them as well, but now ?

Think I might just vote with my feet and close that account if Its permitted. Does anyone know If I can do this without penalty as I'm yet to actually use the account. Would it be noted in my credit history ?

The online saver issue 2 at 5.15% is a pretty good reason to stay. The only other that is close is ICICI (soon to be 5.15%) and you don't have to look hard to find about about thier crappy reputation.
