Painting over children's crayon marks

Hi
We have decided to repaint a few of our rooms ourselves to save money. However, bfore I start I am concerned that the multi-coloured crayon marks left on magnolia paint by my son, will come through the light coloured paint we have purchased. Any suggestions to prevent this please?
2p or not 2p? That is the question!

Give them a good sand down, that should get most of it off. Then touch it up before you paint it, so those areas get the extra coats they need to cover the marks up.

If they are really bad you can buy stain blocker paint. If you are just doing a few rooms you would probably be best just buying the spray paint version, it would cost less than £10. You just spray that on, let it dry and it covers any stains.

I'd get some brown paper (a paper bag would be best) and hold this against the mark whilst gently ironing it. The heat will melt the wax and the brown paper will absorb the worst of it.
