How can I improve my credit rating?

Hi all I need some assistance,
Approximately a year ago I was ending a contract with 3G that I had opened for my brother (worst mistake), he was supposed to pay off the final months payment but didn't, and left it for so long that my account with them defaulted.
That ended my credit rating from being pretty good considering I paid up to date for 17 months of the 18 month contract to below average I cant even open bank accounts bad.
What can I do to improve my rating now after the damage?

First of all, make sure that you pay your defaulted account so in the Credit report is marked satisfied. Whoever owns your debt now, before you pay off make sure they agree to mark as satisfied afterwards. If is a change for settlement (partial payment) use it, and also have marked settled.
Then you do have to keep up all your payments, make sure you have account, credit card or telephone contract, which reports to Credit agencies.0 -
thank you I will get that looked into, brother keeps assuring me he has paid it but it says otherwise, its like he wants to ruin me.0

You might want to look at your 3 Credit Report Files first…0
