oh ms_london I'm SOOOOO pleased for you! have a great day today!

    xx

ps Don't go travelling too soon - we need you on these boards!!!
  • I must admit to being a tiny tiny bit jealous.

Anyway, how does it feel? Is it an anti-climax, like when you finish exams? Have you been smiling like an idiot all day?

By the way, now we get to talk about all your savings? I know you want to go travelling? Do you know where you want to go yet? One recomendation I will give is New Zealand. It is without doubt the most beautiful place on earth. You have to go!

If you're debt free date is next Oct youve done SOOOO well, it will be here before you know it!!

It does feel a bit strange to be honest, I usually smile like an idiot anyway :0)

Re: Travelling. I want to get a working holiday visa for Oz & Nz, but not work for the whole year. I have a few friends in Oz so cant wait to see them, and will naturally go to Nz. I think i'll be going via NY first to visit another friend who's moving there in January, but not sure about anywhere else. I dont want to plan it too much, but really dont know how much I should take. I had always planned on going at the end of next year, but recently have started thinking about July, although I dont think I can save enough by then.

    We shall see.

On the travelling thing I'm presuming you are looking at getting a round the world ticket. There is loads of info on them on the travel boards. One thing though, their prices do change depending on when you decide to start your trip. So if you are flexible on dates this could be to your advantage, i.e. go during the off peak season.

Yep, although most RTW tickets are only valid for 12 months, so will have to forfeit the return leg of the journey (i.e. Oz-London) since I'll be staying in Oz/NZ longer than a year.

My Money saving skills will be staying with me on my travels & before. Have already found some brand name backpacks on ebay & gumtree, so that will save a bit of money. There's load to think about, insurance, visa's, and lots of costs that will mount up. I'd also like a grand here for when I get back so I dont find myself back to square 1.

I am determined to do it as cheaply as possible (but want to have the money there just for peace of mind), and I will still be hunting out the cheapest places to stay/eat/tours etc - although I will let my hair down a little :0)

    Thanks for your advice. xx
