just a thread to praise royal mail.after hearing lots of bad stories about royal mail id just like to say how pleased i am with there service.for my home business i have to send about 10/15 parcels a week.for the past 2 months every parcel has arrived next day(even to ireland)using first class or special delivery.this no doubt has helped build my business as i get a lot of repeat orders
.im sure some of you will disagree but i can only speak from my own experience.

I think the poor performance isn't national, just that certain areas of the country seem to suffer a lot - and that occasionally affects the people who post stuff in those directions.
Unfortunately, Leamington Spa, where I live, has a system that can only be classed as pants.0 -
When I was working in the post room (six years) I never had any major problems with them. 99% of the time had no problems at all. We had a problem with Special Delivery once but that was when there was all that flooding a few years back. The paid compensation promptly. Parcelforce was the problem until they cleaned up their act. I think it depends on where you live and the fact the government is trying to sneakily sell off the post office, which is going to benefit no-one but a few directors, and possibly the treasury.0

I must say I have never really had any complaints about Royal Mail! My post-man is great! If a parcel arrives he always rings the door-bell instead of putting it through the letter-box and if I ain't home and something won't fit through the letter box her wraps it in a bag and puts it somewhere shelter!
He's getting a nice £10 note from me this Christmas!0 -
I used to work for Royal Mail for 14 years until I left due to bullying managers that created intimidation, and a climate of fear.
Enough of that. Okay Christmas time for a postman can be very busy and demanding at times.
Often they get incomplete address (and try and find people using the phone book etc) to complete the delivery of the bad addresses letter/card. Yes we do have a separate office that deals with bad addressed letters but when I worked for them it was based in Ireland and that does delay delivery.
Then we had to put up with quite abusive people (like most service industry) where my ffing Giro, people following you around, even badly bitten by a Staffordshire Terrier dog.
But besides those things it is a good job, pay was bad though, it was only the delivery office I hated.
Most of these postman are decent folk, like all alrge companies there's some bad eggs that spoil if for the rest.
I think I am right in saying that the vast majority of customers prefer a regular postman that knows the route and its customers.
No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you0 -
