FedEx rip off?

I ordered the 6 disc edition of Grindhouse from Amazon Japan. I have now received a bill from FedEx for £25.70 (including an administration charge) for Duty/Tax charges. The DVD cost £33.68 and postage cost £14. FedEx have told customs the total bill is £47.68 (the value of the DVD and postage) PLUS £53 freight charges (which I have never been billed for), so they have worked out the value of the item as £104.68 and I have been charged duty on that. I rang FedEx and they told me they informed HMRC about the package (otherwise it would have just went through). It seems to me that FedEx have made up this £58 freight charge. I have managed to wipe out the administration charge is there any way I can get them to drop this freight charge is it unfair?

I wouldn't bother accepting the package (unless you already have)

let them keep it, it could be cheaper to order another via a different method.

The invoice came after I had received the package or I wouldn't have accepted it. I rang them today and they have revised the VAT and wiped off the admin fee. The thing that bothers me is they had agreed to wipe the admin fee last night but the man i spoke to today said there was nothing on the system about that but he agreed to do it along with sending the new invoice. So I will see what comes in the post.
