You must have noticed that tap water is a lot warmer in the summer than in the winter?

Things underground do vary in temperature, although obviously nowhere near as much as air temperature changes.

Nope, never noticed that. Warm for a second or two as the water above ground passes through the pipes, but after that, quite cold.

The pump itself will be colder too, so what it calls 1L will actually be slightly smaller when the ground is cold.

The cold water is much warmer in the summer.

I keep my home like Miami, so this is NOT down to air temp.

But in summer I have the shower on top power heat 0, in winter top power heat 5 (ish), as it goes from summer to winter I have to increase it.
