Atlantic states NOT putting prices up???

Options
I rang my Gas and Electric provider Atlantic yesterday and asked for a capped deal before switching - they stated catergorically there were NO PLANS to put up the cost of Gas and Electricity in the future and it was all rumour. So I did not switch and what happens today - British Gas put there gas up a whopping amount - I can not see Atlantic sticking to this promise - can you?? Now its too late to switch - typical:rolleyes:

All the companies will state that they have "NO PLANS" to put up their prices until they announce their price increases - it is absolutely standard practice.

To be fair, the call centre operators have no more knowledge that Joe Public; if they were told the news would be leaked in seconds.

By the way, you have hardly had a 'promise'.

and of course they will be increasing prices.

Cardew is absolutely right call centre staff are not top until the very last minute, normally prices changes of this size means the company briefs the stock market as it impacts the share price. Therefore staff cannot know until the stock market does. If you look at Martin's post you will see it has an embargo date/time on it.

Well yesterday staff knew a few hours before the price rise but your right its embargoed until the stock market announcement as just like any other public company Centrica has to tell the stock exchange before the public.
