does anyone no where i can get hedgehogs? heard theyre really good for the garden
Its true they eat all the slugs but you just have to hope you get one because..... i don't think your allowed them as "pets"
Hedgehogs have been included on an updated list of species and habitats which need protection.

BUT there is a site here http://www.thehedgehog.co.uk/contact.htm
about someone that looks after them you could contact letting them know you would like to have one or look after one and do they have advice etc hope this helps!

  • if its illegal to post any live animal, why is you can buy live crickets etc to feed to reptiles, and many "tortoise shops" will post the animals to you? also there is a dog breeder in plymouth that ships worldwide!

For me these are the stuff of nightmares, besides they wouldn't last long, whenever I go into the garden I manage to step on one, my OH hums music and says Behold the destroyer, slayer of snails. I don't half feel guilty! Shows what you can get though.

Why are you so keen on getting pets as presents? They are living creatures & should be treated with respect. Giving animals as gifts willy nilly to children is not really to be encouraged unless they really want it & are taught how to be responsible for the pets. I'm not sure that this would be the case if you are looking for any free pets on random websites on the offchance that they are there and free. It just feels like it's an irresponsible thing to do IMO

What kind of a person would give an animal away on a website without checking out the new owners anyway?
nothing to see here, move along...

i dont even want a pet but know alot of prople would and to get one free is better. and who says they would give it away just like that... more often than not you have to go and pick it up... the same as you would if you bought one?? How do the people selling it know any different to those giving it?
Just because someone wants a pet for nothing doesnt mean it will be ill treated and what givves you the right to presume that people dont really want the pets? and they would only be getting them because they are free...
And that they will let their children be irresponsable? Thats the whole aim to teach responsability to them!!!!!!!!!!!
Why do people have to have a moan about everything... if you dont like something...Dont VIEW IT!!!

  • http://www.preloved.co.uk/ seems a good site to me and this is one quote from their site:-

"Give Us A Forever Home! If you are looking for a new pet, please remember that their future health and happiness is in your hands.
They will look to you for love, care and attention every day for many years to come. Please be sure you can provide this.
The RSPCA publishes some excellent information which tells you exactly what you need to do to give your new friend a long and happy life."
