Google problem

Now this is so embaressing, since a week, my google is playing up, when I do a search, I get lots of very dirty websites and links on the search. :( How did that happen and what do I do to get my google working ok? I asked friends and instead of helping everyone making fun of me.:(

What do I do? And how did this happen, can anyone figure it out, has anyone heard of this problem?

Sounds bang on advice (sounds like this would sort out this problem).

Take advice before deleting anything though (you can do real harm with this program).

  • I agree, sounds like a job for "Hijack This", post the log file generated here to see what should and should not be on your system.

What they are suggesting is to download Hijackthis and run the programme. It scans and lists certain activity on your computer which may or not be desired. On the Iamnotageek website you can paste your hijackthis results and get advice on which items to delete (though take note of what they say ie. that though they are always updating this is not necessarily always correct). You could alternatively post on a forum such as Spywareinfo.com and get advice on the results of your hijackthis log.

I'm glad that your google is back to normal though, perhaps hijackthis could be useful for something else sometime.
