Fiesta needs headlight bulb change - can't find handbook!

Just bought a new headlight bulb for my Fiesta Zetec 1.4 2003/4 model but don't know what to do! I can't find the handbook and don't know where to start. It's the driver's side bulb that has gone.

I did a car maintenance course a while ago and changing a bulb seemed fairly simple then but that wasn't on this car.

Can anyone help or suggest who could do it for me (I know I should have gone to Halford's who will do it for you for a small fee - I might do yet!)

Thanks

On the back of the headlight, you should find a rubber cover, take this off and unclip the bulb holder, withdraw it thru the hole and replace the bulb(DO NOT TOUCH NEW BULB WITH BARE HANDS),then clip back into place and re-apply rubber cover.

if its the same as my 04 focus it will have a black plastic cover held in place with a metal clip that slides over it.
push the metal clip down, remove the cover, unplug the light connector (usually very tight) and then unclip the bulb spring clip, take out bulb, fit new bulb, not touching the glass of the new bulb and reverse above procedure.

    Thanks for the advice

Since I posted this I decided to go to Halfords (not far) anyway, buy another and get them to fit it. Unfortunately they can't do this as it needs to have the brake fluid reservoir moved by undoing nuts and then the headlight needs to be realigned. It'll have to go to a garage tomorrow...... It would have been much easier if it were the passenger side!

Now I can't decide whether to risk driving it tonight (about 2 miles) or to call a taxi..

If you are a member of a breakdown company give them a call.

Flip the grill up, bolt behind the grill and also 2 on top of the headlight, un do them, remove whole headlight unit and then replace the bulb. Would not need realigning if you put it back as was taken out.
And as for drving it tonight, I would, if you get pulled you just say well its only just gone, worse you get is a producer! Or walk, its only 2 miles!

Now I should have thought about calling the AA sooner (as really I want to go to bed soon). I'll see if I can have a go following manda's instructions though not sure I have any spanners!

I didn't drive this evening - I asked a friend for a lift and home again. Unfortunately it went downhill from there as my ex forgot to give the kids (14+16) the taxi fare from the station as he'd agreed, so I did drive a mile or so to collect them.

Well I took the car to a garage today and asked them to fit the bulbs. They have fixed it but it turned out to be a connection problems and not bulbs. They didn't even charge me which is great - and I have spare bulbs if I ever need them.
