Can anyone recommend a reasonable priced corded hammer drill, I am done with cordless that always seem to be flat when you want it or can only be used for a few holes before being flat
It need some umph, it will be used a couple of times a month

Quite a few here http://direct.tesco.com/q/N.1999919.aspx
Not sure you'll need oodles of oomph - my corded is an oldish Black & Decker 550 watt, not brilliant in concrete, but fine for heavyweight brick.0 -
Pick up the latest Argos catt, take it to your local BQ/homebase etc compare prices

If you want a more detailed reply, tell us what you are planning.0 -
Thanks
It will be mainly used for drilling holes through brick/mortar and perhaps teh odd bit of concrete
Also nice to have it chuckless0 -
chuckless puts the price up
Im happy with my Bosch PSB 700RES I find its a good general drill.
But the numbers keep changing ( with the specs)0 -
I think you mean keyless chuck. Check Screwfix and Toolstation online for offers too. Thanks

Sorry to hear about the cat. Lost many over the years including the avatar. :grouphug:A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

I've a Makita, which cost me around £50. It's brilliant and goes through my engineering bricks as well as you can expect. I'll check the spec later.Debbie0

Mine came from wickes...cheapy £20 basic one with 1 year guarantee and in hindsight i think it was false economy. The variable speed function on the trigger has now packed in (beyond guarantee) and i've gouged a bit out of the plastic handle near the chuck (through inappropriate sideways use channelling out walls). It is heavy (particularly noticeable if you use it for a while). All in all i wouldn't really recommend and in hindsight should have spent more money to get a better drill.
