Just read the article and they are "in a class all on their own all right!!!

Read their houses are "worth" £250 million and mortgages cost £160 million- if prices go down by 20% by Christmas- that is a worth of £200 million- if cost of mortgages go up further then the gap between the two figures is shrinking quite a bit.

Mr genius wants to start to sell "after Christmas" - with his sense of timing he should have been a comedian! A bad one!!!!

We just need society to agree to not buy from them at a penny over 35% discount. :) Buy from anyone else but not them.

Sell over a few years? LOL. No choice mate - nothing is selling.

Pity they were both Maths teachers. One could have done with being in Economics.
  • Are we going to change the title of this thread as time goes by to reflect the decreasing number of houses these people own?

Whilst I am sure they deserve whatever's coming to them, there is a touch too much Schadenfreude going on here. These comments are a bit ghoulish.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • Or maybe Mrs Wilson will change her name when she does a runner and the thread title will be Mr Wilson and Ms Whatever - 2 x 437.5 BTL property empires.

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.
  • They may want to sell, but who has the money to buy!! I spoke with an estate agent yesterday who was very honest, prices have dropped down to 2005/2006 levels. He does not expect them to bounce back for another 5 years!! Down my street this means a loss of £30k!!! luckily I bought my house as a home eight years ago, good luck to these property developers they are going to need it

    OMG, they are so pwned.

Listen to Fergus and Judith Wilson's guide to investing in property:
The number one rule is: Never use your own money.

Judith pays careful attention to the financial pages, so she can anticipate movements in the interest rate. All her mortgages are fixed rate interest-only.

Judith believes that because there are not enough properties in the UK to meet housing demand, that there is never a wrong time to buy property.

We'll find out how much the underbidder is prepared to pay in Ashford now. By definition, it won't be as much as our outsized landlord heros.

That figures. Gamble with someone else's money instead. I don't know who's worse, them or the banks for giving them the money to gamble with.
