Crystal Windows vs House Proud

Just been quoted by 2 companies for upvc windows.
For 13 windows, front and back door:

House proud:
The guy came in, and said if i put an advertising board outside my
house (i know i laughed as well) he can do us a super deal.
He quoted...(wait for it) £35,000 but can do it for £9881.
I told him i wanted to spend around 7k, then said he can do 7.5k.

Crystal Windows:
His price was a more reasonable £16k and said that they normally offer 40% off this price, but he will do 50% making it £8200. I told him we had a quote for £6800. He said that he knows the owner of the company and he will ask his main boss etc..etc.

My gut feel was for Crystal..has anyone been able to get more then 50% off?

does £6800 sound like a good deal?

The guy we appointed as our managing agent recommended Crystal. He always used them, so got good discounts. They did come up with a good quote, but I found better with a local firm. I would say that estimate sounds ok for so many windows, but hard to know without sizes, or where you are. I paid over £5K just for french doors, back door & 6 windows (all huge)on my flat (NE London). I do recommend you get a quote from at least 1 more company, 2 if you can bear it. I found the company I used by asking people in my street.
