I completed online Debt Remedy on CCCS website. Do I need to ask for an appointment with a counsellor too?
........... I'm worried and relieved... I can't believe the situation I am in - didn't realise it was quite so bad. I should have done this earlier.

Probably worth phoning them to go through it in more detail.
Am I right in that it gives you a reference number? (i've never done it) .. i think when you phone them you can quote this.
Not sure if i'm right as never done it myself .. soz:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
always worth trying national debtline for an advisor as well.....cccs do seem to be a little snowed under so you could be looking at a couple of weeks before you can talk to an advisorWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

I was with the cccs, if you give them a ring they will be able to help you. They should also give you a ref no so every time you call they will bring your file up.

okay, thanks ... now that I've faced up to where I'm at I'm feeling a bit of urgency to the situation, so I'll try CCCS advisor and if need be debtline, also.0

Hi there,
If you've completed Debt Remedy, but would still like to speak to someone about your situation you can call the number that's in your advice booklet and speak to someone without having to go through the process of ringing the helpline and waiting for an appointment.
Hope this helps,

hi ... they have advised Bankruptcy (gulp). I'm both relieved and anxious. So worried I'll get the timing wrong but I guess the advisors will help me get it right. Thanks for everyone's support/advice0

Diamond if thats what they have advised it is probably the best/only route for you.
If you fail to plan, you will plan to fail.
Always have a back up plan.Stop paying unneccessary debts
Make sure anything that you can pay upfront is done IE Car Tax,insurance, rent and get plenty of supplies in ie bog roll, sugar, corn flakes etc is taken care of and then go for itThe triumph of hope over experience

.... is it wrong of me to withdraw remaining cash on credit card to use to pay rent in advance to ensure it is covered incase something goes wrong with salary/bank account?
unnecessary debts ... you mean not to pay the next due amount on credit cards? I've taken a one month payment holiday on my loan anyway, as couldn't afford it this month.
I'll take your advice re stocking up.0 -
oh, one more question ... how can I justify keeping my laptop and broadband connection?0
