Kitchen Appliance Layout Help? (merged threads)

I currently have gas hob wth electric oven underneath but am thinking of changing to a separate oven in a tall unit separated from the worktop hob by a 60mm unit (guessing can't have hob right next to tall cupboard?) - would that be straightforward for a gas engineer to do - no costly extra pipework or anything? Also, I have a dishwasher connected up already, assuming no problem to get a washing machine connected next to it? On a tight budget so fitting units ourselves but don't want any nasty shocks when I try to get appliances fitted. Extractor hosepipe goes out of hole in the external wall, what sort of extractor shoud I get? Current one flat in a bridging unit between wall units.
