Sony DVD Recorder

Hi, I am thinking of buying a SONY DVD Recorder (RDRHX510) and was hoping for some expert opinions from everyone.
1. Can anyone confirm whether you are able to watch a recording on the hard disk while the machine records another programme to the disk or on to a DVD?
2. What sort of SCART lead would I need for perfect viewing? I have been told that I will need 2 x IXOS cables, is this true or is there an alternative?
3. Appears to be cheaper on Dixon website than in stores by considerable sum.

Does anyone own this Recorder and do they have any comments on whether it is worth the £300 or more that it will cost ?

4. If any problems with the item, having been purchased on website, will Dixon stores effect repairs?

Go to Sony UK website - they have an updated recorder (from memory X710) with a larger HD and freeview. This is currently retailing at around £550 but it may make the version you want cheaper as 'obsolete' stock in the run up to Xmas.
Sorry don't know answer to your questions but I have my eye on one of these as well.
As for the scart lead I would start off using the one I've got now to connect DVD player to telly and only consider upgrading if necessary.

Thanks for reply, prefer to stick to model quoted as I already subscribe to Sky so dont require built in freeview. will try present scart leads and see how it goes ..
