VAT Childrens clothes

in Cutting tax
My daughter who is twelve years old, has size 9 feet and in a dress size 10, she is also fairly tall. For the past 4 or 5 years she has been classed as wearing adult clothes and shoes, even school shoes. I have therfor had to pay VAT on all her clothes and shoes since she was about 7-8 years old.
Is there any way I can claim back this tax, or be exempted from paying it.

Hi Jonnic, I can totally sympathise with you, my eldest is currently just over 6'6" with size 13 feet, and he's 17 so you can imagine the size of him growing up!! It's cost me a fortune over the years and didn't help that for most of his childhood I've been a single parent, used envy the others who had small kids!!!Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. At Adventure Island fun fair park at southend on sea and adult gets a free ride to accompany a paying child ( usually under 5 years old ) provided that the chilkd is less than a certain height.
So some 5 year old can be accompanied by an adult, at no cost, and some can not. This is discrimination on the basis of height. Illegal ?
VAT on clothes of a certain size is discrimination, by the government, on the basis of size. Illegal ?...............................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
