Have Scottish Power called anyone back yet?

This morning was first chance I had to fiddle with comparison sites, etc., and having done the manual sums as SP's online quote & apply section was failing, decide they may be worth a punt as other capped rates could be about level or above predicted rises for my usage. Called the 0800 number only to be told "someone will call you back" as systems being updated.

Anyone else given the same line and had that call back yet?

I switched (I think) via a link in the CashBackKings Website. The link takes you to ScottishPower at which point I switched in the same way as if I had gone straight to the SP site. That was on Monday!

At the end of the switch I got a page saying the switch was being processed and would take some time to be accepted then a further period until the switch was effective.

No mention of a reference number or transaction log code. I printed out the page nonetheless.

Apart from that I've heard nothing. Now I'm concerned they may not honour the switch.

Back in June just before the fix until 2011 offer was available, I used the call-back facility. I'm still waiting for the call.

I switched to ScottishPower two days ago in the end when EDF put up their prices.

I hope they call you back...

I tried switching to Scottish Powers Fixed deal (Fixed to 31st Aug 2009) on Monday via Quidco (£72 cash back) but every time I got onto the SP website the next page for the application would not work.

When I tried again today it worked but the fixed deal was gone and the next cheapest was BG which was £129 more and only £55 cashback. As a last resort I called SP on their 0800 number and someone called me back in two minutes. I was told that the fixed deal is now gone from the website but still available. When I asked about the cashback and the fact that you have to complete the application online she said that if I give her the 'P36' number on the left hand side of the page (this is on the first SP page after you exit Quidcos website) they can continue the application on the phone and still honour the cashback.

Five minutes later and all sorted. I spoke to a manager as part of the process and she also confirmed that the cashback will be paid. As a result I have a fixed deal for 13 months and it's only £24 more than my annual spend at the moment.

I would definitely recommend calling them to see if the deal is still up for grabs. Good luck :j

Lots of us are calling ... problem is either on lengthy hold or just getting engaged tone. And the website bombs out very early in the "quote & apply" process.

But well done on getting the deal sorted.

As well I wasn't holding my breath ... I got through to them quicker than they got through to me ...!!!!

At least I don't have to do the swap thing on power for another year!!!
