credit card charges

Afternoon, am a newbie at this, took me 5 goes to register!!! Have recieved letters from the Financial Ombudsman to say that both MBNA and Goldfish are goting to refund over a grand between them in charges,:beer: but they are going to take it off the balance,:mad: as there is still a debt on it, can they do this, or can I insist that they send the payments to me, as I have already forked out the cost of the fees and charges, plus the interest, also if the accounts have gone to charge off, can they still take the amount off the balance???:T

Hi wool2012

A grand as you know is easy to spend but can be hard to pay off. I would consider whether you really need the cash or is it better to get rid of the balance so that you are paying less interest.

Have the same question,got a great result with MBNA but they also have decided to take it off my account.
At the moment I have no probs handling my account so I could make much better use of the refund being paid to myself.Can this request be made?
