There seems to be alot of advice about gas and elec costs but what about people who have to use oil as their heating source. 300 litres was costing around £90 now it has risen to £200 plus. I am on IS, IB, HB so am low income and i am not in any position to pay out these types of cost. I live in Northern Ireland which does seem to make things even harder. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or have any advice. The winter is on its way and im worried.

"Is anyone else experiencing this problem"
Just a few million - fuel poverty (those spending more than 10% of their income on domestic fuel costs) is expected to rise to affect 25% of households (about 6 million) over the next couple of years. Come the winter I expect to see a huge rise in deaths from hypothermia.
Unless we go back to state controlled supply with fixed rates with shortfalls covered by taxes I can't see how you will be helped.
I am yet to hear any politician give a real practical solution to this problem.
One way you could save money is to contact neighbours who also use oil and form a cooperative so you are ordering for a few houses, rather than doing it individually.0
