Price Cap - Confused!

Hi all,

Ive been looking into all this capping prices. Im a little confused with it all. It seems capping assumes Im already spending over £1000 a year on elec and gas. But I dont think I am. Ive got a pretty good estimate that we would only spend about 765 - 800. Its only my wife and me. We live in a three bedroom semi, but for 5 days a week are out of the house for at least 8 hours a day. It seems if a go with even the best capped price I will be automatically paying around a grand? Am I missing something here?

Thanks

Rich
