Panic!!!!!!

Options
Hi
I've just changed to Scottish Power Fixed Energy 2009. I'm soooooo worried - have i done the right thing???? I have been on the phone all morning tryng to get through to Energy Helpline and now waiting for an advisor to call me. I PANICKED!! I called my current supplier - Scottish Power who have told me they will let me change- even though my meters wont be changed from pre payment meters to ordinary meters to pay monthly direct debit until 12th August. They have written on my notes that as soon as my meters are changed i have to call them and i will be put on Fixed Energy. SOMEONE PLEASE PUT MY MIND AT REST!

  • hi linda,
i know what you mean by panic!!! i'm not in the same predicament but i have just changed from n-power which i changed to 12/07 to e-on capped rate! i wonder if i've done the right thing! i've been trying to see if i'll be penalised by n-power for changing after just 6 months, can't find anything out. i do have 7 days to change my mind, can anyone tell me if i'll have to pay n-power for leaving them so soon? HELP!!!!

You may well be charged by N-power for moving so soon, you need to speak with them as soon as possible, it all depends on the period of your tie-in with them. in hindsight you should be taken in this penality into your calculation to see whether it was worth changing.

That's why I went with Eon yesterday, they had no tie-ins or cancellations charges with their capped rate promotion, worth noting, for anyone else thinking of moving suppliers

    Good luck

  • hi there,
i've been in touch with n-power and they say that there'll be no penalties. so i'm really pleased with that. i did some calculations and the e-on capped rate is only just a bit more than what i've been paying so that's good news too. all in all i'm happy now that i've switched. once again thanks to martin and this site!:T
