I'm not sure yet because its only the first month and I'm still using up the last of the wet food (little bits here and there to use it up and wean them off it) and the last bits of other dry food.
I failed to mention earlier in the thread that my cat does actually have something wrong with her teeth, I can't remember what it's called but it causes a build up of plaque/tartar which is why the vet recommended the Royal Canin stuff. I'll have a look at the Hills stuff and see if that works out any cheaper, thank youSometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -

Try the Logic gel. Cheapest ordered online
Burns is cheap compared to most quality dried foods on the market. However keep costs down by getting a free measuring cup from the vets & only give them what the packet says the size of cat requires.
To be honest it may save you money in the longrun if you get the vet to descale the cats teeth & then maintain them afterwards. Also the vet can see if there is any infection or rotten ones giving swollen gums etc - bad teeth can cause pain & will make dried food even less attractive to wet food lovers until the teeth & gums are in good condition.
Wet food is 75% plus water but also contains sugars, additives etc.

Cats certainly hate the smell of freshly used essential oils but some are fine to use in the house (to freshen when cleaning for example). Tea Tree oil is definitely a no-no however. Lavender is perfectly safe though, if you ever need to use it in your household care, and even if one of the cats gets a cut (if there is no pus present - or wait till none remains) you can use it neat to encourage healing as it is also antibiotic and antiseptic (you don't use it before the pus has gone in case it heals too quickly, while the infection is still inside the cut). They won't exactly enjoy you using it on them though so it's best to use it only if necessary and dab it on with a cotton bud.
Maybe have a spray bottle of water and lavender that you spray on your pillow before the cats come into the room, since most cats not only hate neat essential oils they totally freak out if you use a spray!IAAR/IAAMM/MFTMFAQ/IOA6BH0
