Ok, they come with a license for XP, either Home or Professional depending on which site you bought it from. I guess this software is pre-installed with all the other junk like Tiscali and free trial stuff ?

Do you get original Windows disks? If not, how do you get them?

Reason is i want to use this as a test machine for Server courses, so I'll be wanting to format and re-install regularly to a pure Windows environment.

Just phone dell and demand an OEM install disk they will relent and send you one..

I bought a new Dell last year. XP came preloaded and I also received an XP Home Edition Disc and Booklet. The disc is labelled as a reinstallation disc and is Dell branded. The certificate of authenticity should be attached to the computer.

I just got a Dell and it comes without any disks whatsoever, just a picture of a disk :rotfl: which says on it that they don't send disks and if you need one to visit their support website which they provide an address for (but which seems to be aimed at Americans).
