Service charge or not with Scottish Power
Options
Hi,
Can anyone please explain how to decide if to go with the service charge or not. I went without but can't really explain why
I suppose I just thought why pay one, i know the kwh rates are different. Any mathematicians out there to explain.
I have just switched from EDF V3 to the SP fixed online till autumn next year.
Cheers

It depends if you're a high user of gas / electricity or a low user.
I'm just checking on energyhelpline again, the place I used to switch to Scottish Power...... Entering the same info I did before is now not showing me Scottish Power's capped/fixed deal!
It appears to have gone?
I've got the tariff details noted down for the service with no fixed fee but a higher charge on the first x amount of usage, but not for the service with a standing charge - Do you have that tariff handy? I'll do some calculations0 -
Scottish Power's fixed deal has been pulled from the comparison sites.
We choose no standing charge as there are times when we are away from the home or use very very little energy so we save by not paying a standing charge. For the average home it usually works out the same price or within a few pennies. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
