To cap or not to cap
We are currently with Atlantic electric and gas, (domestic standard, no standing charge, dual with monthly DD) we have asked if they will be capping and the answer is no. At the moment when I look at the comparison sites I will be 16% worse off by capping and my end of year free month is October. To cap or not to cap? Is Atlantic electric and gas part of a group with Southern electric? If they are some parts of the group are capping and some are not. Any suggestions

Hi,
We are on the same tarriff as you and have just been doing the comparisons on energyhelpline. It's scary how much the monthly amounts will increase with the scottish power capped rate. We are rather undecided as to what to do as yourself. The thing is that it looks as though they are all going to increase their prices but will they keep increasing again later in the year and are we going to miss out on what could be a bad tarriff now but looks good come december/january time.
