apply for egg money card they have to let you do the bacs transfer because they promote it as a possitive balance card.0

Wonder if they will give you a money card when they have closed a green card for bad behaviour...0

I've posted elsewhere that they *might* be about to launch a new offer next Tuesday that *could* run until next September 1st 2006. If this is a "roll-over" of their existing product, the BT cheques won't be fee-free until Feb 1st (2% max. £49 until then).
If I'm wrong about the new "roll-over" deal, their current offering will allow fee-free cheques after 30th November.Pricy147 wrote:just had my Egg card closed as they caught onto my SBTs (feeding card) so need an alternative.....0 -

Its the Egg Money they have cancelled. They are also intending to cancel my Egg Green once I have repaid the zero percent - which I have refused to do until the interest free period ends.
I believe there are two ways in which they caught onto me - so be careful:
1) I did a BACs transfer from my Egg Blue/Money into my current account. I had a £9000 positive balance. My Egg Green was already maxed out with my repeat offer. Egg - the imbosiles that they are only went and messed up my request, and transfered from my Green card instead of Blue - thus leaving my blue with a £9000 positive balance, and pushing my Green about £9000 over its credit limit. This probably raised alarm bells - even though it wasnt my fault.
2) I have done some large BACs transfers. My LTSB card has a 32k credit limit - which I pushed onto my blue as a positive balance a few weeks before step 1 above. I tried for about 3/4 weeks to BACs this into my current account as they kept messing it up - apparently - it is over their threshold, and required X levels of approval. This again may have rang alarm bells.
So...two learning points from this. One - If you are insisting on a BACs transfer to make that little bit of extra cashback - make sure they are doing it from the correct card. Double and triple check this. Two - Dont put you card into too much credit - I would recommend no more than 10k. Safest bet is to keep under the 10k positive balance mark, and balance transfer online, that way your not raising any alerts, and the system takes care of the transfer - doesnt need human intervention.
PS. I am the same person that raised this on the fool website!
PPS. Just closed my Mint card - so thats a no goer for now.
PPPS. I thought RBS would do SBTs - but they stated no earlier today.
PPPPS. Only option I can see is to put any card into positive balance, ring up, ask for BACs into current account, and justify by saying I was thinking of buying a car - but it fell through. Cant see any other way at the moment!
HELP!?!?!?!? There must be another way!To Stooze or Not To Stooze - Theres only one option0
