Hi
Ive managed to book cheap flights to Venice with Ryanair.
How do I get from Treviso Airport to Venice? Is there a shuttle bus service or train? Or will I have to shell out for a taxi?
Hope someone can help please?

Theres a shuttle bus, around 4 euro EW takes you to Venice train station and piazza del roma (main bus station) takes 45 mins, and you can also get water buses from here to Venice Lido and further ie punta sabioni, traporti etc
check the links on ryanair site. "destinations" tab for more detailed info. Unlike some other ryanair airports TREVISO is classed as an official Venice airport due to its reasonable proximity along with the main one- MARCO POLO0 -
Venice Card A Venice Card is great value for your transport once in Venice. It will give you 1, 3 or 7 day vaporetto (water bus) pass and also toilets and museums if you go for the orange version. Just be sure to buy or reserve it in advance (at least three days, I think). I certainly made good use of it - the journey up the Grand Canal has to be the finest bus journey in the world!0

When you get off the bus DO NOT be tempted to be hearded towards the Water Taxis. Sort yourself out & find the Vapporatti (Water Bus) stop on the Grand Canal. I have seen this warning posted on here before & witnessed it when we got off the bus. The Vapporatti are easy to use, similar to a bus in other cities, however they follow the canals.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0

I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH - DO NOT BE HERDED TOWARDS THE WATER TAXIS...
We made this mistake - the operation is very smooth - the "helpful" guides wait for the Ryanair bus passangers as they step off the bus and kindly lead them to the rip-off water taxis. There are police officers around who turn a blind eye.
The water buses are at the opposite end of the bus station - a very short walk.
PLEASE warn as many people as possible as you get off the bus to prevent ruined first impressions to this wonderful city.
Four years on, it still makes my blood boil...0 -
Have to agree with others about not following the heard ... you walk for ages, trying to keep up with luggage and kids wasn't easy! and you get charged a stupid amount for the private taxi! We were lucky enough to get the back open seats of the taxi, but the other passengers looked like they'd all been squished into a can!! and they are not what I would call "trained to handle luggage"
When you get to Treviso, buy the coach ticket to Piazzale Roma - can't remember the exact cost, but I think it was around Eur4 as mentioned before - before you leave the airport, look to the left and you will see where they are sold.
When you get off the coach at Piazzale Roma, have a look around, you will see a hotel with big blue neon lights. I think its name started with a "C". Head towards there and you'll see the Grand Canal, from there you can get a Vaporetto (Water Bus), you can't miss the Vaporetto stops, they are big and have yellow strips around the top.
The No.1 local line zigzags between 20 stations on its way from the Piazzale Roma to the Lido.
The No.82 express line runs from San Zaccaria (above the Piazza San Marco) through the Giudecca Canal to the Piazzale Roma, and the railway station. And back.

Edit: I am sure this is the hotel you need to look for and head in that direction. Can anyone else confirm?I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0 -
Yes Ally, that's the hotel. I stayed there just 6 weeks ago! Besides being a good landmark it's a good base for people with mobility problems as it's next to the land busses and taxis and couldn't be handier for the main vaporetto stop.0
