Does anyone understand the difference between Eon's Price Protection 17 and Energy Saver4

They seem to have all the same prices and cut off dates

I'm currently on the EnergyOnline Extra Saver 5 and looking to Cap tonight if someone would kindly help me out with this

Thanks

  • Eons price protection v17 and energy saver 4 have the same unit rates. So cost wise they are the same tariff.

however, if you go for price protection 17 you can pay by any method available and can leave the company with no penalty charges.

The energy saver comes with a free energy monitor however you have to pay by direct debit and if you decide to leave before the end of the price protection term (1st October for price protection and energy saver 4) you will be charged 35 pounds to cover cost of the energy saving monitor on energy saver

    hope that helps

Fluffykittens is correct, both have the same tariff but one Energy Saver 4 ties you in with penalties if you switch before Oct 09 whereas Price Protection 17 does not. I was on the same as you - Energy Saver 5 - and I switched to Price Protection 17 over the weekend.

Don't know if it is worth having, but it is an electronic gadget (not sure how you connect it up etc) which shows you how much electricity you are using - when you boil the kettle, leave a light on, set the dishwasher going and so on. It is supposed hi-light where you are using you electric so that you can try to cut cut back and so cut your costs.
