just a quickie - We have a terraced house that we've been renting for a year - we've kept the garden neat and tidy but next door have a hedge that hangs over our yard. Now who has to cut the hedge? Me because its hanging over onto our proprty or the neighbour because it's their hedge?
Also - the other side of neighbours share a path with us - but the guy next door but one has a dog which comes on to mine and my neighbours yard to do his business - any way i can stop this? (telling the guy to keep his dog on his yard doesnt work, shouting at the dog to !!!!!! off doesnt work, next doors LL wont put a fence up (my LL offered to pay for it but the other LL said no?!) can i put anything down (NOT HARMFUL!) that would act as a deterrant? or shall i chuck a bucket of water over the dog/Owner which ever is nearest like my OH suggested

You cut the overhang and return it to them I think.
Ring the council re dogpooman. Report him to dog warden and log times so they can spy and fine him.0 -
"dogpooman" lol I'm worried that if i report him he'll know its me and might cause trouble. Will start logging times (he doesnt walk the dog but lets it out a fair few times a day and each time it comes on my yard!!!)
Would you really have to return any cuttings? Wouldnt they just go in the bin? I'd feel a prat banging on door and saying "heres your hedge" lol0 -
Well go and ask them first - say you'll be cutting the overhang and do they have room in their bin for it or shall you sqiush it in yours?
Just report dogpooman. He might know its you reporting him but he must know he's being a horrid person and that it's just so wrong.0 -
Have tried to ask them but they never seem to be in and never see them coming or going (big hedge lol) ill stick a lettter through their door telling them i'll be cutting it (well attempting to lol)0

From what I've read, you can cut anything overhanging your garden up to the border. Then you must offer the cuttings back to the owner, who can refuse then you have to dispose of them.
With the dog poo, you should return them to the dog's owner without asking - very quietly, about 3am, lined up on his doorstep (maybe labeled with time and photos of his dog doing them..)

lol my dad said to kindly post them back through his letter box to him but to be honest i dont want to pick anything up - even with doggy poo bags or a shovel - i dont have a dog because i couldnt pick up poo so dont see why i should pick up his dogs.
Gonna call my LL i think - see if he can do anything - though there might be some way of deterraing the dog i know you can with cats0 -
(1) ask the owners not to let their dog pee in your garden. (2) take his dog to the RSPCA and say you found it.
if the do not agree to this (3) I would NOT recommend leaving laxative chocolate for the dog to eat. (4) involves electricity and possibly being sued by the RSPCA.
Only do step (1)GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.0 -

i have asked the owner numberous times and he just says it isnt his dog (clearly it is!) have even told him ive seen his dog and he said "well ill tell him" (!!!!) i cant take the dog to the RSPCA - last time i shouted at it to get lost it started growling at me so now really wanting to get too close to it (let alone have it in the car!) my dad said to have his two dogs for the weekend as the dog might not come on the yard if theres other dogs around but i really think its a bad idea. Must be something i can put down that wont harm the dog but will clear it off?0 -
if the dog is coming into your yard and growling then you have a bigger problem, especially if you have children around.
Joking aside. Firstly I would go to the police/RSPCA and if they could no nothing to this growling animal on my premises, that dog would not be on this earth for very long I'm sorry to say!!!!GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.0 -
it doesnt growl all the time - just when i shout at it - which to be fair its probably just getting defensive. Phoned the LL just now and said look the dogs still messing, growling etc and he said to ring the council so will do that tomorrow but just dont want any more trouble from me reporting NDBO!0
