Recycling an old bath

We are currently having an a new bathroom fitted. I noticed that the old bath that is being taken out is made of metal. Is there anywhere that will recycle these rather than have it just taken away in a skip? Will these places pick - up as we don't have a van to be able to transport it.

Many thanks

    Hiya,

I had my bathroom fitted just before Christmas last year and the guy who was fitting my new suite put my old one outside and someone knocked at the door and asked for it. I believe it was one two local guys who collect scrap metal. They also took the old radiator, taps and other bits and associated bobs for nowt as they will get money for it. So ask around, you never know you might have someone similar round your area and I believe scrap metal is getting premium prices just now.

I've also noticed a few adverts on my local gumtree (https://www.gumtree.com) and click on your area on the right hand side if it's there and there is often requests / posts there offering free pick up of old scrap metal with contact details. Might be worthwhile giving them a look too.

Finally, good luck with the bathroom refit and I hope all goes well.

You could try listing it on your local freecycle.
