  • Thanks for your responses everyone. I am pleased to say that it went really well. :j

The OR phoned at 10 on the dot and was really lovely. She went through my SOA and asked what I had spent the money. I told it was basically refinancing and living costs and I also said about the flights as if she looks at my statements she'll see them. She said everyone's entitled to a holiday.

She asked what has caused BR and I said about dh's business declining over the last year and a bit. She asked why I though it had declined and I just said that people aren't spending anymore and less people are coming to Blackpool for their hols. She said that was fine.

She also asked if I thought that I had lived beyond my means and I answered honestly that yes with hindsight I probably have but didn't think at the time. She said that as I had continued to make full repayments until October 2007 and then made an attempt at lower payments she could see that I had tried to stave off Bankruptcy and had tried to continue paying for as long as possible. She said she would put on the form to the creditors that it was for basic living costs.

She asked about my homeschooling the kids and I explained about my dd who has selective mutism (a fear of speaking in public) and was not able to talk to her teacher or classmates and her teacher told us she couldn't teach her so we had to take her out and began homeschooling. DS was being bullied and school wouldn't do anything so he came out a couple of months later. She was satisfied with that.

I was really surprised that she didn't go into my expenditure at all as I was expecting a bit of a fight on my hands for some of it but she said at the beginning that she could see from my Income and Expenditure that it wouldn't be worth while setting up any payments.

All in all the phone call was nowhere near as bad as I expected it and was ok. It lasted 26 minutes and I was so glad when it was over. She is sending me a BR pack with some forms I have to return along with my cut up cards.

I then phoned CoOp about my cashminder account to find that because I gave them my middle name and the proof of address I took into branch last week didn't mention my middle name I had to go all the way to Preston on the train to take my passport into the branch. I was sooooo annoyed though as I had offered them my passport last week to take a copy of alongside my WTC notification letter and he said that would be ok and didn't need passport. I desperately need this account open so hopefully they might pull their finger out and get on with it. :(

So no pub yet (can't afford it lol) but I think a lovely glass of wine or two is in order this evening.

Oh and I finally admitted to dh the true extent of all my debts and he was fine about it and it didn't lead to the huge argument I thought it would have! :D

So now its a fresh start and I am determined to help dh pay off his debts and budget effectively and try and cut back and become a :money:
