OR Interview Tomorrow!! Eeek!!

Hi
The OR rang this afternoon and has arranged my interview for tomorrow morning at 10am over the phone. I was really surprised to be having it so quick as I was only made BR yesterday but am relieved that things are moving quickly as I just want to get it over with. She sounded really nice and said it will be going over my SOA. I am a little scared about it but not half as much as I was yesterday before going BR.
What sort of questions do they usually ask on these interviews? and how long do you think it will last? I don't have any assets at all - not even a car - so I think the main bits will be my income and expenditure and reasons for BR perhaps.

Gosh at least you dont have to worry about it for a couple of wks:D .
The OR normall goes through your SOA page by page, confirming details. They tend to go a little deeper when it comes to your debts. When did you obtain it,what did you spend the money on,when did you experiece diffaculties paying. They then usally ask you to tell them in your own words what led to your bc and when did you first realise you were insolvent. Some will discuss and IPA others don't.
All said and done just be as honest as you can. Good luck.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Thanks for your replies. Will make a few notes tonight I think.
I am just worried cos I can't remember half the stuff I spent the money on. I think a lot was on food shopping, books when i first pulled the kids out of school, can't think what else. I had used the credit cards quite a bit abroad when I have been visiting my sister too. Will this be a problem? At the time we could just about afford the minimum repayments. It was for living costs abroad as opposed to living costs here.
I remember one of the big bills on my credit card was for a medical bill. I slipped and broke my arm and dislocated my elbow and had to have an op to put my elbow back into its joint and had to stay in hospital a couple of night. I ended up at a private hospital as it was the nearest and I was in total agony. I hadn't got medical insurance as I though we got it free with the bank but when we downgraded our account they stopped it and I didn't realise.
A lot of it went on refinancing too. We took out a loan about 6 years ago originally for 10 grand and then refinanced it a year later so we could get the money together to buy a house. We never did fortunately as the house we fell in love with was falling apart at the seams (well wallties anyway!) then we refinanced yet again to incorporate credit cards and the loan and a small car.
Things were ok for nearly 2 years til I broke my arm and got a medical bill of around 800 quid and dh's business started to slow down so we were using the cards to help with living and hoped his business would improve. We haven't used the credit cards since October 2007. We stopped paying them in November 2007 when we realised we couldn't afford to go on meeting the minimum repayments.
In February 2008 I managed to get our creditors to accept reduced payments with frozen interest for a period of 6 months (tesco and Lloyds) and 12 months (MBNA and Marks & Spencers).
The period of lower payments has come to an end now for lloyds and tescos and we were being hounded to death for full payments from them. I spoke to CCCS and they told me to go BR. It is something that had been on the back of my mind since November 2007 when I had spoken to National Debtline and they had recommended BR then but I wanted to try and clear my debts.
Also the amounts I was paying my creditors were not pro rarted (sp??) if you know what I mean. I basically told them what I wanted to pay and they usually upped it to the minimum that they would accept. For example MBNA I paid 34 a month as it was the minimum they would accept and stop harrassing me and Tesco who I owed 1000 more to accepted 8 a month! Will this be ok? At the time I was just desperate for the hounding and harrassment to stop. I wish I had found this forum then.
Does that sound ok as a rough thing to tell OR if they ask how I got into this mess?
I've just checked the insolvency website and was really surprised that I am on it already. They don't waste any time do they!!!Made Bankrupt on 28/7/08 with debts of £39,437

Hi HS,
from your previous posts i'm guessing your OR is in Blackpool?
Mine was too and they were good, fair and reasonable.
They also worked dam quick and i got all the paper work etc through in super fast time. They also answered any queries promptly. Add to that a very early discharge and i really can't fault them.
Good luck. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
Hi
Getting nervous now!!! My interviews at 10. I have made some notes and also made a note to not waffle as I have a tendency to do so. I think my last post was maybe too much information do you think and waffley. The main reason we went br was my husband's business has declined over the last year to where we couldn't afford to meet repayments anymore.
As for what money went on: Loans were refinancing existing credit. Credit cards were groceries, clothes, flights (naughty I know but my sis lives abroad and it was free hols just had to pay flights and at the time (2 years ago) we thought we could afford to keep up the repayments!), Groceries abroad, internet cafe abroad so I could keep in contact with dh.
Will this be ok do you think?
Thanks

HS you will be fine. From wha you have said you have not done anything different to anybody else. I had cheap flights showing on my aug cc and i went bc in the nov. I explained to the OR about them and he was fine. If yours are 2 years ago, stop worrying. Go have a brandy:eek: but only a small one. Get everything set up and tentake a calming walk round the garden.D

All the best for your interview
Mine literally just went through my SoA asking a few questions.. was over in half an hour.
Had quite large cash withdrawals showing on my account each month which weren't questioned!:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
Good luck.
As others have said, you've just done the normal things that most of us have/had to to get by. They are going to expect to see that things have been difficult, often meaning that you have done things that it would have been better not to with hindsight. Just provide the info they ask for, and only elaborate if asked.
As with the day at court, I'm sure it will be fine.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
