Can anyone please tell me what 'Scrambled Channel' means? I've just successfully installed my new digbox (dead cheap £28) and all is fine except some of the channels give this message? In the instructions booklet, the troubleshooter guide says "switch to an alternative channel".

It usually means its a pay per view channel or subscription.0

Top-Up TV channels are encrypted unless you pay a monthly subscription and get a viewing card.0

Its just what it says, the channel is encoded and you need a Top up TV subscription to view it, along with a freeview box with a card slot.
Your not missing too much though their best offering is UK Gold.
Your box should have the facility to delete channels or set up your favorites to avoid them.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
