Want to lock away £3k

Hi

I've got £3k that I'd like to put out of reach for 2 years. I'm not so worried about getting a return, but I'd like to tie it up for 2 years but be able to get at it if I really have to and don't mind having to give quite a bit of notice.

I've new to this and have no idea what would be the best option, so any opinions would be good!

Are you a tax payer? If so, I'd go with the best fixed rate ISA for that period (you could use a service like Money Supermarket to find this out). If you are not a tax payer I would go with the best term account.
