Just switched from EDF V3 to Scottish Power Fixed NSC to August 2009
Hi,
As you can see by the title i've just switched supplier.
What I would like to know is how can I find out if I will be any better off ? I cannot find the EDF online V3 tarrifs and I don't think the comparison websites have updated EDFs prices yet.
Anyhow my usage, and it amazes me how little gas some people use as posted on other posts.
Gas 33457 kwh for last year, and
Electricity 6900 kwh also for last year.
Now, I live in an old circa 1880 4 bed semi-d. My conventional boiler is ~15 years old and I only use gas for central heating and hot water. Cooking is by electric. Probably new boiler would save me a fortune in the long run.
I would be interested in any comments.
Cheers

here's the link for the Scottish Power Fixed Price Energy deal:

just need to find the details for the other supplier and compare.
I went with the Scottish Power but with a standing charge. Hope I have no major problems - see my other thread for annoyance so far!0 -
You use about double the 'Annual average consumption'

Thanks Hobbin
Umm, I didn't see the standing charge option. I might have been better with that. Need to try and work the maths on my usage.0 -

My annual usage is as follows:
Gas - 13,000kwh
Elec- 1950 kwh
But I live in a small one-bedroom tenement flat on my own and hardly watch the TV and never have stuff on standby. Biggest usage would be this PC! For Gas, I could do with some insulation and even curtains to cut heating in winter, only got blinds at present on single glazed sash windows..
I find the whole No/Standing Charge thing a bit perplexing (maths never was my strongpoint), but my understanding was it's only really useful if you've got say a 2nd home and are hardly ever in it. But then, my calculations showed practically no difference in price between the two.0
