What did you do, hand out leaflets or just talk to people?
I took in some questionnaires that my manager gave me. I made up a small raffle prize which I carried round with me and asked people if they wanted to enter a free prize draw. Not many people will turn something down if its free! The questionnaire asked for their name, address, telephone number and e-mail and then asked for their favourite product, if would be interested in 70% off or even free shopping by hosting a party and if they would be interested in the ways of making money with the body shop at home. Just do get the odd person who is just not interested but then I got 2 ladies I spoke to who were really interested and asked loads of questions. I also helped out with giving customers advice on products which was really good selling practice. I've just gotta find the confidence to contact everyone now!0 -

This time of year is great because its so busy. It took me a while to get up the confidence to ask every person that walked in but when you start talking to people who really want a party its a real boost. If you do go into store let me know how it goes! xx
I did mention it before to my manager. Is it them that arranges it? She's unfortunately not local to my area so I can't really expect her to sort it out for me. Its something I want to do as it will help build my confidence especially when it comes to selling at parties. I went to a fete last week and it was awful. The first fete I did was back in the summer was a bigger area and was a Sunday and I had interest. I offered the free prize draw but the only last week no one was interested because it was such a small village. It wasted my morning but I took something positive from it, to try harder. I tried to get most peoples attention but I don't have a huge kit and it looked minature compared to the phoenix card stand that was thriving. I used to drag my friend along and she was good at drumming up attention because part from being tall she would hand out leaflets and really get people interested. I couldn't really leave my stall so that was another major downfall. It hasn't put me off although it did at the time!
I've had a few friends call me about making orders but no party bookings but can't complain about the small orders. Got to call a lady this week who cancelled her party back in the summer due to pregnancy. Fingers crossed that she's still interested but I will probably get another 'not the right time'. I seem to get that alot. Unfortunately I never actually managed to get many further bookings away from my circle of friends as they all were friends with each other. I did one party and she became a consultant so hosted her own party for her friends and I couldn't get hold of another lady. I knew I'd struggle but never this bad. Will be debt free by December 2016. How is everyone doing with the 25% off deal? I have got 2 parties left and some outside orders. I will be busy with the kids nativity plays and other do's now. I am keen to learn what the mega deal is for January though. Merry Christmas to all of you and I hope you all have fab sales leading up to the 18th.

Hi Monique,
It was nice to meet you the other day. The 25% deal is actually making my life a lot easier. I had a lady who I work with who was wanting to order a few weeks ago but after looking at the brochure decided she'd go into the store anyway she approached me yesterday asking if she could buy a couple of stocking fillers as she never managed to get to the store. I happen to mention the 25% off and she then sent an order over for £65.50! And I also had my husbands uncle contact me for stuff for his wife so he spent another £40! So can't complain!
How did the school fete go?

Hi Gemma
Yes, it was nice to finally meet you too. Well done on your outside orders. I have an idea to get some more. Put together a Catalogue, 3 order forms, 3 samples and staple a business card and a customer letter, tied up with some pretty ribbon ( I have a customer offer letter, which I could e-mail you). Ask guests, friends etc... to share the catalogue with 3 people, if one friend places an order tell them they will receive an additional 10% off ( so 35% up until 18th) also they will go into a draw to win £25 Free and 70% off a £100.
If they come back with 3 orders, you can offer them a Xmas gift or wine, chocolate whatever takes your fancy as an incentive.
Of course the above will depend on the response you receive, but worth a try. You can also send the offer via e-mail. Again, I have done up an e-mail if you want a copy PM me. I am also going to hit a Street and try it.
I am not going to stomp up and down streets, just try one. If it works I might do another.
The School Fayre was ok, usual small sales, interest in a party, but no booking as yet, won't hold my breath!!

Hi, I am brand new to Body Shop but have kind of been thrown in at the deep end! I haven't been given any contact numbers or e mails of any local reps or managers and I'm not actually sure what I'm doing!:o
Nobody has been in touch since I got my kit. Have had a look on the website but am unsure about hostess discount/incentives etc. If anybody could help me with the basics it would be much appreciated!

Have a look at the first post, there is a list of Consultants and their areas. You could try to PM one close to you or ring 0800 092 90 90 if you can't find someone local.0 -
